Prep and Bake Chicken Orzo Paprikash.
Something is off with this recipe.
1 1/2cup water with 4oz orzo.
"Nestle chicken into orzo"
It drowned. The orzo was too soggy and bland, like there was definitely too much water. All the seasoning washed off the chicken.
Did anyone else make this and have similar issues?
Gas oven, covered in foil as instructed, mixed ingredients well before adding to pan.

I’ve had horrible luck with the prep and bake ones. If I feel like I NEED one of the dishes I’ll actually modify it. I’ve been doing Hella Fresh for 10+ years and these have been some of the only unsalvageable recipes in the bunch.
Dang, I’m cooking that one tomorrow night. I usually do the trays in my toaster oven cause they’re small enough. I might add less water and see what happens.
Had that last night and it was awful. The rice was super watery and the chicken just wasn’t good. Worst meal I’ve ever had and we’ve been with them for years.

I had the same issue, orzo was mushy and too wet, chicken was barely cooked and all the seasoning washed off! Whole thing went into the bin lol probably my last “prep & bake” for a while.
That looks awful. I typically cut down on the amount of water in most every one of their recipes, no way did you need 1.5 cups for that tiny bit of orzo. Probably a typo at their end.
The only prep and bake I’ve done was the bbq chicken which was really good. The potatoes arrived peeled, sliced, and partially cooked sous vie style.

Never ever ever get the prep and bakes. They are so cheap. You don’t get your moneys worth. You’re making yourself a TV dinner from scratch. They’re awful.
That sucks. I’ve done a handful of the prep and bake ones, and I have been pleasantly surprised. The BBQ chicken with cheesy potatoes, or whatever it’s called, was bomb. Honestly, it looked really good from the pictures and was even better than expected. I think I did an enchilada one once that worked out great, too. I’ll be sure to steer clear of the orzo though 🫤
Edit: Definitely complain and get that meal covered.
