Best lunch in the office, and it worked out to $7 a meal, instead of $20 to DoorDash fuggin McDonald’s like some other people did.

Coworkers spending $18+ every lunch for DoorDash fast food looking at me eating pulled pork as the main part of my lunch for the 6th time in 3 weeks: “Oh my god I could never repeat lunches that often!”
I guess people spend their money on things they like even if it makes no sense. Insane to me that you’d ever believe one Chipotle meal is worth $20, but I guess it’s insane to them that I can have brisket as a key part of my lunch every other day after I smoke one.
I couldn’t spend $20 on a self-made lunch if I wanted to. I don’t even know what that would involve.

Is it supposed to be surprising that the meal made at home costs less than the fast food meal that you’re paying a delivery charge and tip on top of?

I’ll never understand door dashing McDonald’s or other fast food. Chinese or Indian takeout, sure. But McDonalds is already overpriced these days and it’s only good if it’s fresh.

Holy fuck everyone has their panties in a bunch today haha. Apparently I’m the asshole for saying it’s dumb to spend $20 on McDonald’s when you could have awesome ribs for a fraction of the price, but I guess I’ll just go fuck myself 🤷♂️

Every Sunday I cook enough to feed my whole family for dinner and leave about 3 days worth of lunches that I pre-pack. I go with sandwiches or something else for Thursday and Friday. It saves me a lot of money in the long run.

I pray for that keyboard being so close to ribs and cornbread.

I bring in some sort of smoked meat every week and have it and Bush’s baked beans on Monday. If there are only a couple of us, whatever I bring in sometimes lasts all week. Occasionally I bring in chili instead.
