Abbiocco, a fresh pasta-focused restaurant and wine bar, is slated to launched Thursday evening on Forest Avenue in the space that previously hosted Sissle & Daughters Coffee, Wine Bar & Grocer.
The intimate, 29-seat venue — including a nine-seat bar — is located at 634 Forest Ave. Executive chef-owner Cole Curcio said he aimed to give the restaurant a homey vibe, and has covered one of the dining room walls with more than 20 paintings from three local artists: Kelley Dillon, Phoebe Harris and Amy Hill. The paintings are available for sale through the restaurant’s website.
Curcio’s menu features fresh pasta dishes using Maine ingredients, like a pot roast-inspired, braised beef raviolo with crispy fingerling potatoes and carrot top gremolata. Zach Hoppie is the restaurant’s chef de cuisine. Hoppie and Curcio both previously cooked at Twelve.
The bar program features an extensive wine list, about 75 percent Italian, as well as some beer options, and riffs on classic cocktails like Negronis and Old Fashioneds.
Abbiocco will be open Wednesdays through Sundays from 5-9 p.m.
