Amanda Holden was in disbelief as she shared an impressive transformation. The TV star jetted off to Italy with her good friend comedian Alan Carr for another season of their hit BBC renovation programme, Amanda and Alan’s Italian Job.
The programme sees the celebrity pairing purchase a rundown property abroad, before they spend the summer getting stuck into a complete renovation while immersing themselves in the local culture. Alan’s comedic joy, paired with Amanda’s level-headed brain provide the perfect match for the BBC show.
In a recent series, the two TV stars spent the summer renovating an Italian house in the beautiful Tuscan hills. Each episode of the show took viewers through each room as they transformed the property from its rundown state into a stunning dream house.
In a recent instalment of the show on BBC One, Alan and Amanda were tackling the garden, which had not been touched in over a decade.
It was Alan’s job to assist the team in digging up the garden to ensure it was level enough to plant over it. They aspired to make a beautiful outdoor setting for them to “linger with a gin and tonic” on a hot summers evening.

Amanda designed a fence to give the garden some structure, as well as building a terraced wall out of local stone. Meanwhile, Alan visited a terracotta factory to make a plant pot for the garden.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge also visited a garden centre with her mum to pick up some new plants for the outdoor space. She was keen to buy a traditional Italian olive tree to finish off the transformation.
After their time spent buying some bits and bobs for their garden, Alan and Amanda returned to see their new space and were completely taken aback by the finished product.

Amanda added in a orange-coloured table and chair set, as well as a while bench where they both could sit and take in the atmosphere. She finished off the bench with some colourful cushions to add to the modern vibe.
Reflecting on the incredible transformation, Amanda said: “I’m just so happy it’s done, I can’t believe what a transformation it is. Alan added: “How lovely listening to the river with that view.”
Amanda and Alan’s BBC show has recently been recommissioned for a fourth series. This time the two TV stars will reunite in Greece, whisking viewers away on a Greek renovation project.
