Never knew how good jalapeños could be until I started growing them myself
Fresh salsa for some and pickling the rest

Same! I had never had a fully mature jalapeno until I started growing them. The sweet peppery heat!

Way better than the dumb giant ones from in stores

The ones in the store are bred to grow fast and not be as hot. I grow six plants every year and freeze enough jalapenos to get me until the next season.

I’ve had an unbelievable amount of jalapeños this year and THEY ARE STILL GOING. I’ve frozen tons and eaten some and made 3 qts of taqueria style. Let it end!

Oh buddy just wait till you start experimenting with new varities. I do still grow jalapenos as they are such a stable solid good tasting plant, but there are just some amazing varieties out there

Once they are bright red/orange I eat them, dipping them in sugar after each bite. So fruity and delicious. Though home grown ones hurt a bit more.
