The Idler has officially opened its doors in Victoria, offering Londoners and visitors a new all-day restaurant dedicated to savouring life at your own pace. With a menu rooted in seasonal British ingredients and Mediterranean influences, The Idler invites guests to connect and enjoy food and drink without the city-fuelled hustle and bustle.

Nestled in the heart of Victoria, The Idler restaurant & deli is a welcoming space for nourishment for both locals and visitors alike with its gorgeous interiors and warm community feel, all just moments away from London’s most iconic theatres and landmarks.

The Menu

Breakfast at The Idler sets the tone for the day. Guests are invited to enjoy a generous continental buffet featuring organic yoghurts, fresh-baked breads and pastries, homemade granolas, seasonal fruits, and more. For those seeking a cooked-to-order speciality, the menu also includes a range of breakfast staples such as English Breakfast, Eggs Royale and an elevated Confit Pork Belly Butty.

The all-day offering moves seamlessly into lunch and dinner, beginning with starters such as fresh Anchovies with Garlic and Parsley, White Onion and Truffle Arancini, Grilled Octopus with Romesco and Bitter Leaves, and Heritage Beetroot with Whipped Goat Cheese and Tarragon.

Mains are divided into Land, Sea, and Earth with a delicious selection of dishes, including Herdwick Lamb Rump with Jersey Royals, Baby Carrots and Rocket Pesto; Lake District Bavette with Heirloom Tomatoes, Caesar Foam and Madeira Jus; and Pan-Fried Sea Bream with Fennel Mint Salad.

The menu finishes on a sweet note with desserts like Crème Fraîche Panna Cotta with Strawberries, Balsamic and Basil, Grilled Peaches with Honeycomb Ice Cream and Lemon Balm, and Chocolate Tonka Mousse with Thyme Shortbread and Chantilly Cream.

The drinks menu is unmatched and allows diners to unwind and enjoy the finer moments. Whether indulging in cocktails, the carefully curated wine list or selection of beers and low-alcohol options, it’s easy to find something for every moment and mood.

The Deli

Located within The July, the Idler’s deli serves as an everyday hub where guests and locals alike can pop by and choose from warm sourdough focaccia sandwiches, brewed coffee and a selection of artisanal ingredients to cook with back at home, or in their fully serviced apartments at The July, for a dinner feast.

In October, online marketplace DELLI will take over the space for an immersive deli pop-up experience from October 3rd for three months, showcasing Britain’s most exciting independent food makers. The DELLI pop-up at The Idler will feature a rotating selection of artisanal products from hundreds of independent makers, including cult favourites like Honest Toil Olive Oil, Fat Crush wine, Superbon and Soffles, Fatso Chocolate and Piggy’s Hot Honey.
