It looks like myoglobin which is totally safe to eat, I usually throw it away though because it looks so off putting! You should be fine 🙂

I eat it like this all the time. Just depends on how it’s cooked. The ones at our local Chinese buffet almost always look like that and they’ve never made me sick.

Went camping in my teens, we got stupidly stoned. Let’s cook some wings at midnight in the dark. Gas ran out halfway through. We didn’t know. We ate. In the morning raw shreds of chicken hanging off bones everywhere. Didn’t get sick thankfully but sure felt mentally damaged.
