I won’t do pink brandywine again – it was too fussy up here in the PNW.

Will always do Sungold – tried other cherries this season but none matched it in flavor

Super happy with A Grappoli dehydrated! Cherokee purple was tasty, and so was pink Brandywine. Golden Jubillee I got very few from but it was lovely and sweet!

Marglobe shocked the heck out of me. The plant didn’t get much sun and definitely got some bugs attacking the leaves. But man the tomatoes I got were the perfect round red tomato with an awesome taste. I had no idea what it would be like when I purchased the seedling.

Paul Robeson, and as always Black Cherry and Black Krim. And Berkeley Pink Tie Dye!

I can’t explain it, but for some reason your picture makes it look like these are all tiny doll tomatoes in tiny doll plates. I can’t force my brain to view them as normal sized lol.

To answer your question though, Mexico Midget has been
our favorite! So flavorful in such a small tomato. Also in the PNW and they did really well for me. It’s still producing, despite the powdery mildew!

Favorite was Linnie’s Oxheart this year, beautiful full red fruit. Great in salsa, sandwiches & sauce! Black Rose was second place. Full Disclosure: those are the only 2 of 6 varieties that turned out to be what we expected.

Totally agree with you on the Sungold! I tried a couple of different cherry varieties this year too (including Black Cherry and Sweet Million) but nothing could beat that sweet, tangy hit from Sungolds right off the vine. They just seem to thrive no matter what, plus they’re practically candy. I had the same experience with Brandywines, by the way. Mine were really prone to splitting and I barely got any actual good fruit.

I think I’m going to stick to the dependable ones like Sungold and try experimenting with some new saladettes next year.
