Fresh assembly, Should this wiring be pushed back inside the hole?

Z grills 550. Assembled fine but I imagine this wiring is supposed to be inside the hole. It was hanging out of the hole for what ever reason. Brand new just assembled. I was worried if I pushed back inside it would touch the smoke chamber and The heat would damage the wiring.

Any thoughts?
