STAMFORD, CT — The “That’s Amore Italian Festival” will return to Mill River Park on Oct. 11–12, bringing food, music and cultural celebrations to downtown Stamford.
Now in its seventh year, the festival has become one of the city’s most popular cultural events, drawing more than 15,000 attendees annually.
“This event is about remembering our Italian heritage and celebrating it with our community,” said founder Ilario Altamura, a first-generation Italian American whose family emigrated from Minturno and Calabria. Altamura, who also heads Parachute Concerts, started the festival in 2018 to honor the sacrifices of his parents and others who helped build Stamford and surrounding communities.
Organizers say the weekend will feature authentic Italian cuisine, live music, cultural exhibits and family-friendly entertainment. Admission is free, and events will run from noon to 9 p.m. each day.
The festival is produced in partnership with the Stamford chapter of UNICO, one of Connecticut’s largest Italian American service organizations. The group promotes Italian heritage, provides scholarships and supports community service programs.
