CLEVELAND, Ohio – Northeast Ohio is bidding farewell to a trio of food and drink places.
Here’s a summary of the closings and when:
ROCKY RIVER: Stino da Napoli
Stino da Napoli, a longtime Italian restaurant, marks the end of an era this year. Chef-owner Agostino Iacullo, who opened Stino da Napoli in 1991 after arriving from Italy with only $300, made the decision to retire after 34 years in the business. The restaurant quickly became a community favorite, known for its authentic Neapolitan cuisine and warm family atmosphere. Its reputation for excellence persisted through decades, turning every meal — whether for a special celebration or an ordinary night — into a lasting memory for countless patrons. With the final dinner service planned for Saturday, Dec. 20, the Iacullo family expressed deep gratitude to patrons, friends and staff who “became like family” over the years, promising that the memories created between its walls would always endure in the hearts of those who gathered there. HINCKLEY: Hoppy Dude Brews
Hoppy Dude Brews in Medina County announced it would be permanently closing its doors. The brewery, known for its laid-back vibe and passionate local following, held its last weekend of service at the end of September. Hoppy Dude Brews had carved out its niche as a comfortable place to explore new beers and meet friends. Its closure resonated as another loss in the Northeast Ohio craft-beer scene. Hoppy Dude was open about four years. Read more: Hoppy Dude Brews is closing its doors
MENTOR: Mentor Brewing Co.
Mentor Brewing Co., another staple of the local craft beverage community, recently made the decision to close. The brewery built its reputation on small-batch beers, ciders and hard seltzers, and prided itself on keeping things local. Co-owner Brian Seelinger said the time was right: He wants to spend more time with his six grandchildren. Seelinger had taught beer- and wine making before evolving the business into a brewery five years ago. Read more: Mentor Brewing Co. announces closure; owners are ‘moving forward’
