A friend kindly lent me their Linea Micra and Fiorenzato Libra setup, and I’m already dreading the day they ask for it back….
Coming from a Fellow Opus and Rancilio Silvia, this feels like stepping into another world.
•The Libra’s grind-by-weight is unreal- no more dosing mess or guesswork…or retention😳
•The Micra’s temperature stability and steam power make every shot feel effortless.
•Workflow just flows and is super quick.
My Silvia suddenly feels like a hand tool next to power machinery.
Current setup:
•18g in / 36g out / 28s
•Beans: Bell Lane Coffee – La Morena
Anyone else borrowed gear you knew you’d fall in love with? How did the “back to reality” transition go?

Just tell them you lost it when they ask for it back.
Very tidy set up for sure. I’d borrow it off you!
I don’t have any friends that are that good. 😂
I do have a Libra and adore it though.
That’s cool that you could answer the question of whether an upgrade is worth it. Were you trying before buying?
id say just move to a different state and block your friend on everything. worth it
The problem you’re having is that awful grinder, lol. I’d upgrade the grinder!
That’s a good friend to have.
Who the fuck let’s someone borrow a LM! That’s a badass friend they best be getting a Christmas present from you.
Try it next to the Silvia pro x
I haven’t but im upgrading my bambino plus and eureka facile mostly because of having to weigh out the beans and the extraction. Its too much like work lately.
Skim-read the title and thought OP missed his Silvia.
Once you go black you never come back?
Dont get why u get rhe feelinf of upgrading the machine. Think about grinder maybe. But the results arent way better than with a silvia for sure
You should try running a shot through your rancilio and and through the LM, both using grinds through the Libra, and do some comparative tasting.
If the shots taste the same, it might take half the depression off! And you know the next upgrade is a grinder. I’d be very interested to hear the results
I would mod the hell out of your Silvia and make it better then the overpriced linea.
Try upgrading the grinder. The Opus is a decent beginner grinder but that’s about it. With the market these days, you could buy a pretty good grinder for under $600.
If I had money to burn to pay for the name brand, yes, I’d get a micra
It’s entirely the Eureka.
If you block their number and move, they can’t take it back
Is it just me or are almost all new grinders rebranded Eureka ones nowadays?
I made the switch from a Silvia to a Mini after 10 years of Silvia. Can’t imagine using a single boiler again.
Looking for a grinder to pair with my Micra. Eureka Libra or Pico? I like the Libra’s grind by weight. Please help me decide.
I was immediately focused on misperceiving the mugs as a set of impressively consistent and fancy dome-foamed lattes.
I just waited, amd waited. My dreams set up when I first got into this was actually a Rancillo Silva and I didn’t know enough to pick a grinder yet. I chugged along with my Gaggia pure for years and years until it finally needed a repair that wasnt feasible. By that time I had been fawning over ECM for a few years and just skipped right up to my endgame setup. All that to say I’d hang on to rancillo as long as you can bear it, then just go wild and get your dream setup
