So last year, my mother was cutting up (supposedly) bell peppers for a dish, scraped together all the seeds and gave them to me for my garden this year. Out of the handful I sowed, two plants survived and are finally chugging out peppers. One is producing bell peppers as expected, while the other one is…interesting? Quick Google image search says these could be poblanos and I haven’t done a taste test yet.

They look like poblanos to me.
The thing about saving seeds from random produce is that you never know what it was pollinated with. It could be a cross between any number of peppers, you only know that the mother was a bell.
Could be anaheim
Almost look like a bell pepper/poblano cross.
Poblanos and bell peppers
That is not a Poblano, they are a much darker green. And it’s not an Anaheim either. They are narrower and more elongated. I just grilled both of those and a Cubanelle tonight. It’s a green bell pepper or some kind. Grill it up and see if it has any heat….
