I missed my MIL's birthday last month and only got to see her today, and so I spent yesterday baking a cake for her!

I usually spend 2-3 days on baking a cake, but this one took just one day with whatever ingredients we already had on hand. It's a chocolate cake with hazelnut ganache filling and brown butter buttercream.

I reused the same cake board that I had made for my three-year-olds's duck cake last weekend, hah!
