Octopus cake and beachy cake balls

My newly 5 year old requested an octopus cake. I was very happy how it turned out, and more importantly, so was he! (Birthday boy name redacted)

Chocolate chip and chocolate cake, with basic buttercream and marshmallow fondant, and white chocolate shell details.

I had some unsuccessful attempts making the sphere cake top, but it all worked out. A bit lovably lumpy, but that’s how the guests know it’s homemade 😉 I did love his smirk. (And failed attempts at the sphere cake got recycled into cake balls).
