I can't seem to get the icing right. It keeps curling at the tip of the bag if I squeeze it ever so slightly so I feel it might be too runny? I had a thicker one and it was the same I've resorted to painting my cookies lol. I have much more control but not sure if its still considered "not cheating"

They look great! Painting isn’t cheating at all!

I feel like I’ve seen these cookies in so many different posts already.

They are *your* cookies, and I think they’re lovely. Decorate them however you like! There is no “cheating”. Anyone who says otherwise can kick rocks

I love them. The updates and progress are fun to see. Keep going!

Painting isn’t cheating at all! Also the icing can be curling too if the bag is cut crooked. It’s way too much to type out but if you are on Tik Tok, Borderlands Bakery has a video that goes super in depth on how to prevent the icing from curling 😊

In my experience curling is a result of cutting the bag poorly. Make sure you cut on an angle, and if your bag has overhang near the seam, trim it away from the opening so the icing stream doesn’t “catch” on it!

Personally curling usually means a poor cut or shit bags. I like painting cookies and think these look cool!

  8. What works for me is making sure the seam of the bag is facing the ceiling/floor when cutting and piping, if that makes sense.

Cheating? What’s cheating? Get that outta your vocab!! You did these cookies, no cheat in there.

In terms of royal icing there’s a YouTuber called SweetAmbs and other called Haniela they go both go into details on “counts” in terms of how long it takes the icing to disappear in itself. I use anywhere from 15-20 (spreads/floods) seconds consistency and 25-30 for stiff consistency so it does spread at all. Also, there’s a technique called wet on wet that she talks about which is a good option with the design you have. These still are very well done and it is very much artistic to paint on these in the same way you would use icing. It actually can look way cleaner and is just a matter on how you want them to look. Don’t ever let anyone dismiss your artistry these are very clean and beautifully done!
