A new restaurant serving classic and modern Italian and American dishes has opened in Moneta. “It’s different high-end authentic cuisine served in a family atmosphere,” said La Casa Toscana spokesperson Alex Machado.
The new restaurant is a collaboration between managing owner Eli Martinez and chef/owner Francisco Machado. Alex Machado, who has been in the restaurant business for more than 20 years, helped his brother and brother-in-law get the new restaurant venture up and going. “Someone gave me an opportunity to learn, and I put my heart into doing the same for others,” said Alex Machado.
La Casa Toscana offers a variety of dishes including appetizers, soups and salads, as well as classics from the grill like steak sandwiches, Reubens, burgers and chicken sandwiches. Chef specials include ribeye steak, beef tenderloin, mahi-mahi, salmon, and surf and turf. A host of sides are available for pairing including rice, mashed potatoes, seasonal veggies, lake signature salad, Caesar salad, fries and onion rings.
Other creative entrees include Chicken Rochester, an egg-buttered chicken breast sauteed with spinach, capers and tossed in a creamy lemon butter sauce and served over penne pasta; Frutti Di Mare, a seafood dish with clams, mussels, shrimp calamari over linguini pasta with a house creamy sherry tomato Toscano sauce. Traditional Italian favorites like Mama’s Ravioli — cheese ravioli in a creamy cherry tomato sauce with sweet sausage and fresh spinach is also on the menu, along with other favorites such as pizzas and calzones. A kid’s menu is also available, along with a dessert menu that includes Timeless Tiramisu, Lemon Cream Cake, Coconut Cloud Cake and Chocolate Layer Round Cake.
La Casa Toscana has a full bar offering cocktails, wine and beer, as well as zero proof cocktails. Indoor and outdoor dining is available. Dining is available with and without reservations, but recommendations are recommended for large parties.
Located at 16483 Moneta Road in Moneta, La Casa Toscana is open Monday — Thursday, 11 a.m. – 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
