Wanted to try a beer can chicken over the weekend. It turned out juicy, tender and a lil bit haunted just the way we like it. Smoked a 7lb'r @ 400° on the Woodridge Pro until internal of 165. This helped the skin get spooky crispy even for a Traeger. 🤓 Fam was happy with the end result which in turn made me happy. Fun cook!

There used to be a place in Korea town in Los Angeles that cooked their chicken vertically like this. Absolutely fantastic.
At first glance I thought that chicken was on a car dashboard… lol. Looks good, going to have to try that!
I legit thought you were cooking on your dashboard. Looks great!
Every time I’ve done a beer can chicken, guests have loved it/raved about it – and it’s either been the first time they’ve heard of it or tried it. Next time, try Cherry Coke for the can (why waste a good beer lol), drink about 1/3rd of it, then put a Bay Leaf and rosemary in the can. Also, season the inside of the bird before you put the can in (dry rub or sauce). It will make a world of difference for the flavor 👍 And be sure to let the bird sit for 10-15mins before serving 👍
Also, love that you used Weber seasoning for a Traeger 😳🤣😂🤣 If you’re interested, check out some of the organic/non-organic rubs you can get pretty cheap from Amazon (Cusos Maple Bourbon and Chicken Seasoning are great ones to try out 👍). I’ve added a few to my Subscribe & Save shipment for added savings 😁
I tried the beer can chicken once and I couldn’t taste any difference with regular chicken. Still looks good
