If you’re Instagram algorithm leans Adelaide hospo, it’s likely you’ve seen Icardi’s pop-up on your feed. Drawn in by the cohesive mellow yellow, moss green, and mahogany colour scheme and sepia-toned photos, it’s the kind of branding that makes you stop scrolling. Whoever’s behind it has taste, Icardi’s has the bones of what could be Adelaide’s next cool dining spot.

For now, details remain deliberately scarce. There are no menu teasers or fit-out reveals, only a tagline promising Mediterranean dining. But here’s the catch – while the feed looks like something from a business still months out from opening, Icardi’s is far closer, with doors set to swing open October 23.

Here’s what we do know. The team behind the project has described the experience as “relaxed yet refined,” with food designed for sharing and a focus on “vibrant flavours, fresh ingredients and authentic recipes delivered with warm hospitality.”

Speculation runs wild. Authentic recipes tend to suggest a Mediterranean bloodline at the helm. And “warm hospitality?” Well, they have to be Italian – it goes without saying. Perhaps Sicilian olives to start, kingfish crudo, bowls of marinara, the scent of slow-simmered Neapolitana, a crisp cotoletta. Maybe. Maybe not.

If one thing’s for certain, it’s that Icardi’s will sit in good company. Just down the road, the $300-million Eighty Eight O’Connell precinct is luring some of Adelaide’s biggest names, from Adam Liston’s Japanese-inspired Yakisan to Mercato’s new trattoria Imma and their brand new retail flagship, alongside wellness destination CHANGE. Together, they’re giving O’Connell Street a fresh identity as a lifestyle and dining destination.

Doors open next month. Until then, the feed stays teasingly minimal, but if you’re willing to take the gamble, bookings are already open. Be the first to claim a seat. Ciao.
