My husband bought a smoker (Recteq Bullseye), I was against it originally…now I’m wondering why we’ve waited so long!!!! I’ve had smoked food before and found it to be really over powering but I have loved every single thing he’s made so far!
He’s made ribs, chicken thighs, steak but last night he made a brown sugar smoked cream cheese and my goodness, it was amazing! We paired it with crackers, blueberry jam and pickled jalapeños.
He’s attempting a brisket this weekend 🤞🏻

Congrats on the new smoker and the expansion of your household menu. This is just the beginning! Enjoy!
Try smoked jalapeño deviled eggs!
Food!
I do a smoked cream cheese every time I fire up the smoker. Makes a phenomenal appetizer while waiting for the main show
Smoked cream cheese is a top tier treat. I recommend smoked cream corn. Also jalapeño poppers.
Next up: Sous Vide
I had a smoker when I met my wife.
I got a Sous Vide after we were married and won her over with homemade cold cut turkey breast and roast beef.
some of my fav’s
smoke eggplants, make babaganoush
smoked meatloaf
and the reigning champion, beef plate ribs for special occasions
for uniqueness, thors hammer

The Bullseye is a work horse. I have had mine since they first came out. Still use it 3-4x a week and no issues.
Wow – that looks/sounds delicious! Wish I could find that on a restaurant menu somewhere!
I love that it feels (to me) that it’s created a new level of bonding for you and hubby! 🤗
Buy him this, mark every recipe you want him to make for you. Similar situation as yours.

Nice
The only limitation on smoked cream cheese is just your imagination. Have fun!
Nice.
Dips are great in the smoker.
If you have a good spinach dip recipe. Do it in the smoker.
Also, jalapeño poppers wrapped in bacon in the smoker are great
I have the old rectec 700 and it is an absolute beast. Everything that comes off it is amazing.
Jalapeño seems happy
Leason learned! Your husband knows a thing or 2. Jeez, can you wives please give us some interference-free credit every now and then?
Candied, smoked, sliced jalapenos are fantastic and go with so many things.
What kinda jam is on there?
try pork belly
Tale as old as time – at first, there are mixed feelings about the new smoker, questions about when it will be used…yadda yadda
Then one smoked set of ribs/chuck/brisket later and suddenly it was the best idea ever!!
Enjoy it OP!!
Have you made queso yet. Search in this sub

You mean our husband obviously. 🙄 we all in this together now.
Why were you against it?
Hes gunna murder that brisket. Happy for yall
Why were you against it in the first place
Why would you be against it? Do you hate your husband having fun?
Poor guy. Gotta be allowed to do things.
Pellet smokers are a lot more mild than a traditional smoker. A lot of people like them better because you dont get a whole lot of smoke flavor from it
Brown sugar….. Will have to do that.
I normally just apply a chipotle rub
That bite right there is underestimated for sure
The sweet, spicy, salty bite is delicious.
Well done!!!
Next party, do smoked queso dip and jalapeno poppers. It’s a guaranteed hit. Personally I like the *Hey Grill Hey* queso dip recipe
Wow, these are some interesting ideas and never thought about them
Those crackers are interesting
What kind are they?
Why would you be against it????
Was the brisket so dry you’ve made ritz with jalapeños for dinner?
I’ve made a smoked melted butter that I used as the basis for a caramel sauce.
Damn. I want some
Chicken thighs
Just made smoked trout and a smoked pork loin wrapped in bacon today. Both were really good. Look up Dr Bbq big green egg brisket. That’s the best recipe I’ve found so far.
That looks amazing
Good luck on the brisket
Tips for brisket:
Trim aggressively will result in better end result
On pellet smokers fat side down smoke at 225F
Smoke until satisfied with bark(anywhere from 6-8 hours) then wrap and finish in oven at 250F until probe tender
Allow to rest for at least a few hours but preferably overnight at 150F
Expect total cook time to be 14 hours plus, I also recommend he takes notes of what steps he did so in the future he can make adjustments if something didn’t work or if it did keep it working. Briskets can come out drastically different just from changing a variable or too so it’s good to document the process, sounds silly I know but overtime it will pay off as the meat comes out better and better each cook.
look up smoked cowboy candy. i think kendricksBBQ on youtube is where i seen it.
