Would this be okay to sousvide with? Don’t have vacuum sealer bags, don’t see anything about BPA free

Thank you for your picture post to r/souvide. We want to remind everyone of Rule #5. Posts should be accompanied by something to foster discussion. A comment, a question, etc is encouraged.

If you’ve posted a picture of something you’ve prepared, please explain why in a comment so people can have some sort of conversation. Simply dropping a picture of food in the sub isn’t really fostering any discussion which is what we’re all aiming for.

Posts that are a picture with no discussion can and will be removed by the mods.

    Thank you!!

Yes, I do it ALL THE TIME. I’m still alive.

You should be good so long as there’s no leak

If you’re doing more than a MR steak I’d double bag. Cheaper and non freezer bags tend to fail. Guess how I know

  5. I have used those exact bags and have gotten a couple of leaks but usually work just fine.

My understanding is the BPA is used to harden plastics so it shouldn’t be on something like a plastic bag. Not a chemist, that’s just what Ive read.
