The bakers at Currumbin’s The Bread Social will be swapping loaves for ladles as the kitchen is handed over to none other than Chef Frankie – the Italian-born chef who has been winning Gold Coasters over with his heartfelt, hand-shaped approach to food. On Friday October 10, Frankie returns for round two of the pop-up dinner series, promising a menu that’s equal parts comfort and craftsmanship. Here’s what’s on the table …

Celebrated for his exceptional multi-layered wagyu lasagne, handmade ethos and instinctive flair, Chef Frankie cooks with the kind of soul and warmth that would make Nonna proud. This one-night-only menu distils that sensibility into a tight, seasonal line-up designed to feel like you’re dining at his own family table.

The night kicks off with antipasti, where sourdough focaccia is teamed with burnt onions and Oomite, alongside Byron Bay burrata and an heirloom-tomato panzanella that tastes like summer on a plate. The main event is a classic risotto al pomodoro finished with salted ricotta, a dish that strikes the perfect balance between rustic simplicity and layered depth. To finish, guests will be treated to a silky creme caramel, because no Italian feast should end without a dolce.

With tickets at $65 and two sittings to choose from – 5:30–7:30 pm or 8:00–10:00 pm – it’s a chance to tuck into a one-night-only Italian spread with perfectly matched pours from Luna Wine Store.

Seats are limited, and if the last pop-up was anything to go by, they’ll vanish quickly. Gather your crew, book a table, and settle in for an evening where bread, wine and Italian tradition meet in perfect harmony. Nab tickets here.
