UK supermarket Asda has kicked off the Christmas festivities with a look at some of the tasty new plant-based products joining its vegan Christmas range for 2025.
This year, the retailer is celebrating its 60th birthday, and it’s shaping up to be an incredible party with 37 festive plant-based products, all certified by the Vegan Society. Asda’s range is one of the largest for vegans this winter, and includes everything you need for a cruelty-free Christmas; from party nibbles to indulgent desserts, and even a vegan cheese board.
Revealing the supermarket’s festive range for 2025, Asda’s Senior Director for New Product Development, Linsay Taylor, shared that the products were developed so customers can enjoy the magic of Christmas without the overwhelm.
She says: “This Christmas, our mission has been laser-focused on providing great quality products, but most importantly, at the best possible price, making Christmas magical and affordable for all!”
So, if you’re ready to start planning your easiest and most extravagant Christmas dinner yet, here’s your first look at some of the highlights in Asda’s vegan Christmas range this year.

Vegan Christmas dinner
Asda is launching a new vegan centrepiece for 2025, which is sure to be a hit with fans of wholesome, plant-based foods. Asda’s Exceptional Roasted Butternut, Cranberry & Chestnut Roast brings fruity flavour to the dinner table, in the shape of a stunning, cranberry-studded snowflake.
Made with a festive mixture of tender roasted butternut squash, cranberries, and chestnuts, with crunchy sunflower and pumpkin seeds, this is a flavour-packed alternative to your run-of-the-mill nut roast. It’s made even more irresistible with a topping of dried apricots and sultanas, finished with a redcurrant & ruby port glaze.
Returning for 2025 is the OMV! No Turkey Crown with Caramelised Onion & Herb Stuffing. This succulent turkey-style joint is prepared in traditional style with a herby sage and onion stuffing. And at just £4.98 for enough to serve four to five people, it’s a cost-effective option for a vegan Christmas dinner.
Another stunning vegan main on offer this year is the OMV! Vegan Mushroom Wellington Joint. Perfect for a meat-free Christmas centrepiece, it’s stuffed with a medley of mushrooms and caramelised onion wrapped in a flaky puff pastry.
No Christmas dinner is complete without one or three vegan ‘pigs’ in blankets on the plate. This year, Asda has got it covered with the return of its OMV! No Pigs in Blankets. A vegan version of the classic nibble, plant-based cocktail sausages are hand-wrapped in smoky vegan bacon. They’re available in a pack of 10; plenty for a party platter or as a side dish at a family dinner.
Joining the ‘PIBs’ on your festive plate are the OMV! Meat Free Sage & Onion Stuffing Balls. These soya-based stuffing balls are made with caramelised onions and aromatic sage for a mouthwatering side that’s every bit as flavourful and succulent as their pork-based counterparts.
And if that’s not enough, Asda has also sought vegan certification for two classic trimmings in its Exceptional range. Plant-based diners can also load up on its Exceptional Christmas Red Cabbage and a boatload of Exceptional Caramelised Onion Gravy to top off this year’s Christmas dinner.
Festive desserts
Asda has only announced one vegan centrepiece dessert for 2025 (so far). The OMV! Billionaires Dessert features layers of biscuit, salted caramel, Belgian dark chocolate ganache, and a silky Belgian dark chocolate and caramel mousse. Big enough to serve eight, this decadent dessert is finished with gold glitter to bring a touch of sparkle to the table.
Those who prefer to steer clear of chocolate-heavy desserts need not worry. There are still plenty of traditional Christmas treats to enjoy, plus a huge selection of sweets and chocolates for an after-dinner treat.
First up is Asda’s 6-Month Matured Christmas Pudding. Available in two sizes, to serve six or eight people, this classic festive dessert is made with traditional dried fruits and a splash of brandy.
The supermarket also offers a variety of mince pies which are suitable for vegans. The OMV! Mince Pies are sold in a pack of six, and feature perfectly crisp shortcrust pastry, packed with a juicy mincemeat filling.
Meanwhile, in the Free From range, two kinds of mince pies are suitable for vegan and gluten-free diets. Asda’s Free From Mince Pies are just as delectable as the OMV! version, but encased in a gluten-free shortcrust pastry. For a sweeter treat, try the Free From Iced Mince Pies, which are topped with a sugary-sweet icing.
For gluten-free guests, or anyone who can’t find the time to make a traditional vegan Christmas cake recipe from scratch, the Free From Iced Christmas Cake Slices are here to make your festive tea break easy. Sold in a pack of four ready-to-serve slices, this gluten-free fruit cake is topped with the traditional combination of marzipan and white fondant icing.
Vegan party food
Get your festive party started with the OMV! Cheese Alternative Board. This snackable selection of vegan cheeses is perfect for a buffet spread, cheese and wine party, or as a cheese course after a slap-up festive meal.
The selection of classic cheese varieties includes Asda’s Cranberry Wensleydale Alternative, Mature Cheddar Alternative, Jalapeno and Chilli Cheddar Alternative and Cracked Black Pepper Cheddar Alternative.
Also perfect for a vegan party food table are Asda’s Mini Veg Spring Rolls, which are filled with carrots, red peppers, cabbage, and bean sprouts, seasoned with ginger, garlic, and sesame oil, and ready to bake until golden and crispy.
And it’s not a party without nibbles. Luckily, Asda has plenty of vegan-friendly crisps available to fill your bowls, including festively flavoured Boxing Day Curry Ridged Crisps, ‘pigs in blanket’-style Free From Piggy Wiggles, and dippable Lightly Salted Christmas Tree Tortilla Chips.
Festive gifts and sweet treats
If you can’t have a bit of fun at Christmas, when can you? Asda is making it easy with a selection of novelty sweets and extravagant treats, perfect for gifting or for enjoying at home.
2025 is the year of the classic Gingerbread Man at Asda, with over 30 themed products throughout the supermarket’s range. And vegans aren’t left out of the fun. There’s a range of plant-based Gingerbread Man treats to enjoy.
First up is the Free From Gingerbread Man Blonde Choc Hollow, which is made from Asda’s Vegan Society-approved vegan blonde chocolate. This 100g chocolate figure is perfect for gifting.
Meanwhile, for a smaller treat, try the Free From Caramel Chocolate Gingerbread Man Lolly or the Free From Gingerbread Man Shaped Caramel Chocolates, bite-sized treats made from a creamy, caramel-flavoured, dairy-free chocolate.
And for those who prefer a more traditional Gingerbread Man to snack on, Asda offers ready-to-bake Gingerbread Dough, perfect for making gingerbread houses, people, or even festive creatures.
This year, even the OMV! range is getting in on the gingerbread fun, with the OMV! Gingerbread Popcorn and Pretzel Slab. This chocolate slab is loaded with vegan salted caramel popcorn, salted pretzel balls, and soya-based gingerbread fudge, then decorated with sugar sprinkles for a colourful gift you’d be overjoyed to find in your stocking.
Also in Asda’s dedicated vegan range are the OMV! Choc Maltie Balls, OMV! Deliciously Vegan Blonde Choc Giant Buttons, and the OMV! Choc Nut and Fruit Mix. The latter is a festive mix of chocolate-coated almonds, hazelnuts, raisins and sweetened cranberries – a delicious dairy-free option for sweet snacking this Christmas.
Perfect for gifting or for a little sweet treat after your Christmas dinner, the OMV! Truffle Selection features a tempting selection of vegan chocolates. Flavours include hazelnut, raspberry, and salted caramel wrapped in dairy-free dark chocolate, white and milk chocolate.
