Amarone Della Valpolicella is made with partially dried grapes, giving it a really distinctive flavor and mouthfeel. Hard to match with other wine styles. If you like this, Ripassa Della Valpoicella is a similar wine with a generally lighter body and easier flavor.

Sry for being an ass just so you know: refer to such wines as “Amarone” or “AdlV”. Valpolicella is the regular red and the name of the region.
Basically not the same 😂

Zinfandel and CdP can be confused for Amarone in blinds, they’re all big wines with high alcohol

Check this analysis from Sommelier’s Window to see if it helps! you can look for ones that have similar tasting profiles and structure to what you see in the link [https://sommelierswindow.com/wine/2021-corte-giara-amarone-della-valpolicella](https://sommelierswindow.com/wine/2021-corte-giara-amarone-della-valpolicella)

If you dig the Corte Giara stuff you could take a step up from the same producer. Allegrini produces CG as their value wine but if you like the style I would recommend the Palazzo della Torre or La Grola. They’re not fiendishly expensive and similar style.

If you like that dried-grape style of wine, you could also look for Sforzato (Nebbiolo) from Valtellina, or Recioto di Sagrantino from Montefalco in Umbria.
