We have lots of news about… lots. Stores in three South Jersey towns have changed from Big Lots to Job Lot.
The bankrupt Big Lots chain recently closed all its stores around the country earlier this year.. But what’s Big Lots’ loss is Ocean State Job Lots’ gain.
O.S.J.L., a Rhode Island-based discount chain, now has over 175 stores in New England, New York, and Pennsylvania, and five in New Jersey, and they’re opening their second of three stores in Atlantic County in a spot left vacant by Big Lots.
The 34,120-square-foot space previously occupied by Big Lots at 4215 Black Horse Pike, in the Hamilton Commons in Mays Landing, is set to open this fall.
Jobs Available at Ocean State Job Lots, Mays Landing
60 available jobs at the new Mays Landing store include leadership, supervisory, full-time, part-time, and seasonal roles.
The company offers competitive pay and benefits, including flexible hours, health insurance, profit participation, paid time off, a 401(k) plan, and a 30% employee discount.

Here Are Five Things to Know About Ocean State Job Lots
1- Ocean State Job Lot stores in South Jersey have opened this year at 257 W. New Road in Somers Point, 3845 Bayshore Road in the Bayshore Mall in North Cape May, and at 580 N. Main Street in Bay Shore Plaza, Barnegat.
2- The opening of the Mays Landing store will mean there are eleven Ocean State Job Lots in New Jersey, including Somers Point, Barnegat, North Cape May, Clinton, Deptford, Franklin Park, Freehold, Holmdel, South Plainfield, and Sparta.
3- Ocean State Job Lot sells a wide variety of discounted merchandise, including household products, apparel, pet supplies, kitchen staples, and seasonal items, mostly purchased in bulk from other retailers.

4-Ocean State Job Lot opened in 1977. Each store ranges from 27,000 to 43,000 square feet.
