This Moroccan chicken is divine! Between the garlic, saffron, preserved lemons, and green olives, the aroma alone is enough to make you feel like you’ve been transported straight to a bustling souk in Marrakech. It is so easy to make and full of flavor, you have to try it!

This Moroccan lemon chicken and olives is nostalgia on a plate. During the summers with my family in France, this is our go-to dish at local North African restaurants. The chicken comes out so juicy and is so flavorful and so easy to make. And the key is in the preserved lemons and saffron mixed together with herbs and spices. It creates the most delicious marinade for your chicken. Just marinate, place on a bed of chopped onions, add in the preserved lemons, broth, and olives. And the oven does all of the work for you. Serve over some warm couscous. Dig in and enjoy.

  2. It’s a tajine, not a couscous meal… Means we eat it with bread (it tastes better with bread) sometimes we make it with potatoes and carrots, other times we add olives and fries toward the end πŸ˜‹

  3. The broth is the biggest issue to get or make – that’s actually high quality
