Hello everyone, welcome to my channel. I’m say today I’ll share my favorite stuffed tomato recipe. Tomato is called a tomato in Japanese and this is hiragana tomato. The feature of this dish is using teriyaki sauce. The flavors of teriyaki sauce and tomato are perfect. And this dish really goes well with the rice. I hope you enjoy Japanese stuffed tomato at your home. This is so delicious. Yes, let’s make it. Our first I prepare the tomatoes. These tomatoes are from Ibaraki Prefecture. I cut the top off. [Music] Nice. Then cut around the inside of the tomato. Keep the position of the knife and load the tomato. Okay. And use a spoon to scrape out the pub and seeds. I do this work carefully not to break the tomato. Good. I’ll mince the big chunks of the inside like this. Return it to the bowl. Set it aside for a while. Next, I cut the garlic. Make fine cuts. Then make cuts horizontally and chop it. The tip of mine is to make cuts as finely as possible at the first step. Good. Then onion, it’s 100 g. The cutting method on tip of onion is same as for the garlic. the tone missing it as finally as possible at the first step. Make cuts horizontally and chop it. Nice. I prepared the ingredients of the filling. This is 300 g of ground beef. I keep half of it in the fridge and stuff the remaining ground beef. Put the olive oil then spread it. Once the pan is well heated, add the ground of beef and stuff line it. Today I totally use two grams of salt. I add half salt distributed and black pepper. Stir fry it until the meat becomes brown. The reasons I stir fry the meat are to add nice lo of flavor to the patties and prevent the patties from shrinking. Looks delicious. I add some minced onion, garlic, and tomato pop and seeds. Mix them. soy sauce and sake. Reduce the sauce to thicken the flavor. The heat is medium. 4 minutes ready. The water reduced. Once the sauce is cool, the ingredients soak the sauce well. Okay. Turn off the heat, then transfer it to the flat tray and spread it. I let it all cool. Next, prepare the patties. I add the remaining salt and black pepper. Mix them well. Today, I don’t use the glue, egg, bread crumbs, and so on. The reason I don’t use them is to enjoy the flavor and texture of the meat. In fact, the texture of the patties becomes a little bit firmer than the patties with egg. But the slightly farm meat and soft tomato go very well together. It has become cool. Mix them together. If you like the soft texture of the patties, please add a neck. Low ground meat holds the cooked other ingredients. The patties are very flavorful. Ideally, let it stand for 30 minutes in the fridge to melt the flavors. These are shiso leaves. Cut it into half, then chop it finally. Shisel leaves add unique smell to the patties. We can use a bay and parsley instead of it. Shis leaves dry easily, so please cut it just before using. 30 minutes later, mix chopped chisel leaves and patties. Okay. Then stuff the patties into the tomatoes. I put the patties well to prevent the patties from coming off. Make the surface smooth with the back of the spoon. Nice. Let’s grill them. Put the olive oil and spread it. The heat is medium. Place a stuffed tomatoes facing me side down. Brown the surface over medium low heat. The part is done easily, so please be careful for grilling. Put a pressure with a spatula to brown them evenly. 4 minutes later, turn them no. The roasted flavor is very nice. Lovely. I put the tops on them. The tops are also delicious. Then add 30 g of water. Cover it with a lid and steam them for 15 minutes over medium heat. 7 minutes later, tomatoes release delicious juice. This juice goes perfect with soy sauce. I turn down the heat to medium low. Meanwhile, I prepare the sauce ingredients. This is a recipe. 15 minutes later, I open the lid. Tomatoes are cooked well and become tend. I add 20 g of sake, me, soy sauce, and last sugar. I move the tomatoes to make a space. Then pour the sauce over them again and again. The sauce penetrates into the inside of the patties. Deduce the sauce to make the flavor rich and tasty. Remain the sauce like this. I’ve cooked them with a sauce for 3 minutes and turn off the heat. Let’s arrange it on the plate. Looks so delicious. Pour the sauce over them. Perfect. Japanese stuffed tomatoes are done. Let’s eat it. Tomato and meat are perfect. And the sauce is flavorful. It goes well with the rice. This is so delicious. And this is a cheese. Cheese is perfect with it, too. I hope you will enjoy Japanese stuffed tomatoes. Thank you. Did you enjoy? Today I made a Japanese stuffed tomatoes. I love this dish so much. And if you like, please share your recipe of stuffed tomatoes. I’m really interested in western stuffed tomatoes. Thank you for watching to the end. I’m looking forward to seeing you next time. Have a nice day. See you later. [Music]

  1. Yooo Ryusei, we usually stuff tomatoes with beef mince and rice in Italy. I'm going to try your way 😊 can't wait to make them!

  2. I love stuffed vegetables a lot, but until now i made them the mediterranean way – they are called 'gemistes' in Greece usually red/green/yellow bell paprika, zucchini, huge ognions, also tomato filled with meat or with a mixture of rice, rasins and pine seeds and tomato sauce using lots of origanum and olive oil. But the japanese version for the tomatoes is next level… did not come into my mind until now to use teriyaki sauce with tomatoes, but I think they are a perfect match and on top i did not know that teriyaki sauce is so easily made with only 4 ingredients witch I have all at home, I have been buying the bottled sauce for years and learned only today that I could have been cooking homemade teriyaki sauce all along πŸ˜…
Thank you for sharing this great recipe!

  3. Japanese stuffed tomatoes look incredibly delicious and beautiful! I will share the recipe with my girlfriend. Go chiso sama deshita. Domo arigato Ryusei! πŸ˜€

  4. Never seen cooked and raw meat mixed together. Your tomatoes were lovely. I make stuffed tomatoes for a side dish with breadcrumbs, oil, parm cheese, chopped herbs.

  5. I've made fresh cherry tomatoes stuffed with feta cheese and herbs for appetizers or garnishes, but I've never made cooked stuffed tomatoes. They do look good.

  6. On Balkans people feel their peppers , tomatoes, zuccini and big onions with mince, rice and spices. Very common. Your version of course have japanese touch which sounds interesting to try. Thank you for sharing. Cheers

  7. I would like to be your guest. I am a far away friend, but I subscribe to your channel. It is very good.

  8. This dish reminded me of a dish my dad used to make with rice, canned tomatos and soya sauce just minus the beef, and the process you did πŸ˜‚ but I loved how savoury it was

  9. I love seeing Western ingredients in Japanese cooking. It's not just the tomato; it's the olive oil too! I love how this essentially Western preparation uses a very Japanese sauce plus shiso. If I could have a dream restaurant, it would serve what I call international international food, that is, different countries' takes on food from other places. Western food in Asia in general is just such a cool concept (OTR has at least one video on Thailand's take on American food), and of course, these stuffed tomatoes look great too! Thanks for making this and thanks for showing it to us!

  10. That looks really good! I don’t think i’ve ever made stuffed tomatoes. I’ve stuffed peppers and cabbage – with ground beef and rice. The soy sauce sounds like good idea. We’ll try it soon.
    Thank you!

  11. Very nice recipe! I make cold stuffed tomatoes with boiled eggs, tuna and mayo, and also hot stuffed tomatoes with ground beef and tomato sauce in the oven. I am going to try your recipe, thank you

  17. Wow these look delicious! Mom is tired of eating the same things (she is 90) & this would be something different I could make for her. I bet she would love these!

  18. These stuffed tomatoes look absolutely delicious, great video ! They are so different from the ones I make 😊 I've never precooked part of the stuffing but I'll definitely try your recipe !
The way I cook my stuffed tomatoes is like this: I make the stuffing with ground beef and pork, onion, garlic, bread crumbs, basil and parsley and parmesan. Then I fill the tomatoes, put them in an oven dish with some rice on the bottom that will cook with the juices. Then I cook it in the oven for about an hour

  19. I love this idea, I've only ever had a stuffed pepper before but this version with the teriyaki sauce sounds delicious.
Umm, I know you must have planned your next few videos but I have a request for whenever you can fit in. I haven't been feeling well lately and I've been trying to find recipes that are easy to make and have a soft texture, so I was wondering if you could share a recipe for Okayu? Just if you have time, of course. I love your videos, keep up the amazing work, Ryusei-san!

  20. Just made these for dinner. Used half beef, half pork. No shiso, because I can't get it here. Absolutely wonderful! Thank you for the recipe! Love your channel.
