Over 210 exhibitors, 18 Italian regions and from Greece, buyers from 16 countries around the world, 176 competing oils, 27 restaurants involved in Trieste and beyond with dishes where oil will be the protagonist, 12 bars that will offer cocktails OIL.
These are some of the numbers of Oil Capital 2025, the exhibition of typical and quality extra virgin olive oil which will take place from 14 to 16 March 2025 in Trieste, at the Generali Convention Center in Porto Vecchio now Porto Vivo. The 17th edition of the extra virgin olive oil fair, where Italian production is widely represented, will be, as always, a point of reference and meeting for hundreds of operators in the sector, but above all it will be an appointment for the public, who will be able to get to know the producers, the characteristics of the oils and will also be able to participate in tastings and other initiatives.
The winning format is the same as always, even if, like every year, some new features will be introduced. Among the aspects most appreciated by visitors will always be the possibility of tasting the Evo (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) of the new harvest year directly from the producer, with the opportunity to learn to appreciate the diversity and how to pair them with dishes.
Antonio Paoletti, President of the Venezia Giulia Chamber of Commerce, stressed that “one of the distinctive features of the fair is its internationality, on which we have focused a lot, always growing in these 17 years of the fair. Here in Trieste, producers know that they can do interesting business, because they meet restaurateurs, an attentive public and above all buyers from all over the world”. Among the events within Olio Capitale, Paoletti particularly recalled “the opening conference, on well-being, to highlight with various experts how important oil is for health”.
The exhibitors will come from Calabria, Puglia, Sicily, Campania, Sardinia, Tuscany, Abruzzo, Lazio, Umbria, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Liguria, Basilicata, Molise, Piedmont, Emilia Romagna, Lombardy, Marche and Greece. The buyers, always numerous at Olio Capitale, will come to Trieste from Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, United States, Hungary, Canada, England, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Australia, Sweden, Estonia, Japan and Indonesia.
The usual event will take place during the fair International Competition Olio Capitale, a prestigious event dedicated to Typical and Quality Extra Virgin Olive Oils, produced in the Mediterranean area. This year there are 176 oils in the competition.
