NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Mr. B’s Bistro shares it is officially reclaiming its position as New Orleans’ premier lunch destination.

“Here’s a little French Quarter wisdom: lunch doesn’t have to be a desk salad or a rushed sandwich between meetings,” says Cindy Brennan, owner of the Royal Street establishment. “Not when you know where to go.”

The Mr. B’s Lunch Renaissance highlights “what insiders have known for decades” – that the restaurant’s midday service offers the same exceptional Creole cuisine, genuine hospitality, and comfortable atmosphere that has made dinner reservations a coveted commodity, with the added benefits of natural light streaming through French Quarter windows and those $1.50 house martinis and Bloody Marys.

Executive Chef Vincent Sciarrotta‘s Approach to Lunch

Under the leadership of Executive Chef Vincent Sciarrotta, the lunch menu is said to showcase the restaurant’s commitment to authentic Creole cuisine using the freshest local ingredients. Chef Sciarrotta’s seasonal offerings feature signature dishes that have become synonymous with the Mr. B’s experience:

Signature Lunch Offerings:

$1.50 House Martinis and Bloody Marys – Available at lunch, Wednesday through Friday, with entrée purchase

Crispy Fried Oysters – Six flash-fried Gulf oysters served with jalapeño tartar sauce start your meal off right

Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes – Jumbo lump crabmeat, showcasing the Gulf’s finest

Barbequed Shrimp – The restaurant’s famous Worcestershire-spiked butter sauce with garlic and black pepper, served with jumbo Gulf shrimp…don’t forget the bib!

Gumbo Ya Ya – A super-dark roux and spicy chicken and andouille gumbo that tells New Orleans’ story in a single spoonful

Bistro Burger – A blend of Brisket, short rib & chuck with Tillamook extra sharp cheddar & Applewood smoked bacon, on a freshly baked brioche bun, served with crispy pommes frites

Wood Grilled Gulf Fish – Fresh catch prepared on Mr. B’s wood-burning grill, which introduced New Orleans to this cooking method in 1979

Skip’s Fried Chicken – Served only on Wednesday, this meal is specially prepared by longtime chef Phillip “Skip” Lomax Jr., served with Collard Greens & Mac and Cheese…it’s a MUST TRY

Mr. B’s Famous Lemon Ice Box Pie – The restaurant’s iconic dessert with a graham cracker crust, raspberry sauce, candied lemon, and freshly whipped cream, perfect for sealing any business deal

“Great Creole cooking can’t be rushed,” said Chef Sciarrotta. “That’s why we start our prep work days ahead—so that when our guests arrive, everything from our dark roux to our delicate stocks has been prepared with the time and care they deserve. That’s the secret ingredient: time.”
