What separates smarter farmers from smart
farmers is that they have results for what they talk about. They do more than the talk. Uh
they have results for what they say they know about vegetable gardening. Well, in this video we
are going to uh learn how to be a smarter farmer and not a smart farmer. So how to learn faster
to get results um from your gardening experience and uh set yourself above other mediocre
farmers. That is also what we are going to learn about in this video. So the hardest truth
um that you don’t is that that you don’t know something until you are able to do it. So if
you don’t learn faster in knowing what to do, you always delay your progress. uh you will always
be left behind when other farmers are dominating the market. So you need to set yourself above
other farmers by knowing what to do. You need to become expert because you know what to do. So
the reality of this age is uh different compared to the past ages. Uh knowledge is available for
us in abas and can easily be accessible not like uh those uh times. So literally almost in this
age has a smartphone. So if you are want to know about a disease affecting your crops, you are
just a click away from getting information about the disease from its causes, its signs and its
symptoms and the different ways of how to prevent and uh uh control it. So you don’t have to go to
school to get a bachelor’s degree in agriculture to know how to grow tomatoes. just have to uh go
to the internet, get a guide or videos on how to grow tomatoes, uh grow them over time and then
boom, you become an expert at growing tomatoes. So this is a beauty about our times, you have no
excuse uh whatsoever. So the most important thing about uh this agriculture to become smarter you
need to just uh learn how to to grow your desired vegetable uh vegetables uh you need to know the
skill of you need to learn the skill of how to to do it. So me personally I have a a bachelor’s
degree in agriculture but I have realized that anyone can become good at growing their desired
vegetable even without this fancy knowledge that we really really talk about. So I did all the
study at school but I had to go back in the field and undergo the struggle every other farmer
uh in practice goes through to grow the crops myself. I am not by the way downplaying people
who study agriculture and uh because I really really believe that their greatest importance is
to release information uh that helps other farmers become better in their gardening experience.
But you see the practical aspect of running a vegetable business is more than just having ideal
information uh in your head about how to do things with all information you you’ve been given. You
have to go out and practice. you have to apply uh this information in the context to make
sure that it fits what you do or uh what you have around if you are going to be successful at
growing that vegetable that you desire. So because you see the thing is that we all don’t have access
to the fertilizers the same way you don’t all have we are not all close to the markets the same
way you all don’t have the same starting capital and many more other things that are make us uh
different but usually the methods of how to grow something are usually the same for all farmers.
But with all this access to information, you need to go and you uh learn faster how to uh how to
grow your desired vegetable crop. Uh if you’re to become a smarter farmer, if you are to separate
yourself from other farmers, you need to learn faster. So agriculture is a skill to learn. So
most farmers are are out there sharing information uh that is really really not authentic. they are
they share things they uh that they do not do or they talk about what they do not even know really
in my context I really really try my very very best not to share experiences uh as practical
advice for those that that are the things that I’ve not done out and tried out my my myself
unless unless uh it is a piece of information that I have and I have learned from somewhere and
I’d really really love to share it with farmers on my channels because see the reality is it is
the things that have worked for you that really much make much sense in the gardening journey
uh of other farmers you’re sharing information too. So the market needs more authentic people
who are sharing authentic information people who share things that they have done or things that
uh they are doing now. So, but because see being skilled at growing a specific vertical crop does
not only set you uh out to sell out your produce, it also makes you an expert uh of sorts. Uh it is
not just about you growing crops to sell out to the market, but it also makes you an educator to
others who would love to grow by the way the same vegetable crop. So by the way the next direction
I’ll take in sharing my content is how to help other farmers also become educators because
I have seen this work out for other farmers. But uh for this video let’s now share how to learn
the skill faster because you cannot share when you don’t know the skill of growing your vegetable.
So vegetable growing because has many things to learn. Why I say it is a skill has very many
aspects for you to learn to become good at uh growing uh that vegetable crop. So it’s not
just about uh one process uh that is involved. There are very many things that you need to
learn across the journey of your vegetable grow. You need to learn about markets. You need to
learn about nursery management. You need to learn about seedling care. You need to learn about
fertilization. You need to learn about labor management. You need to learn about pesticide
management. You need to learn about pests and uh diseases that are involved in uh the garden
and many many many many more other things that uh you need to actually learn but uh there are
quite a lot of things for you to learn. That’s why it’s a skill and you need to really dig deep. So I
I but I shared deeper about these things specific things that you need to learn in my beginners uh
vegetable guide. You can get it in the description below. Yeah. uh you the guide will show you
the different things that you need to learn to master for you to become good at for vegetable
cutting and also give you practical advice and the mistakes you should avoid uh for you to become
a vegetable gardener that you desire. Every skill needs time to become good at. So you must be
willing to put in the time to do the work to learn uh this agriculture skill. And by the way, you
need only three growing seasons to become good at vegetable gardening. Of course, I still by the
way share about more about that in my beginner’s guide. Still can check out in the description
below. You can uh for you to get the guide. So the first season is to implement what has been given
to you is a copy and paste. You copy and paste as has been given to you in your first season. So
the second season is to really correct the gaps, the mistakes and remove what does not work for
you and add what really works for you and add the things that you’ve learned over time. So and
the third season is for you now to find stability. And that’s why I say you only need three growing
seasons if you’re doing it the right way. But in every season you need to learn and act faster
for you to find the stability that does not delay your progress. So how do you use of course
like applying the guide uh make learning from your mistakes and uh finding stability you need to do
it faster so that you are able to uh get the skill because the market is in need of you and you need
to set yourself out there. So I’m going to share five things that will help you learn faster the
skill of vegetable gardener. So number one let’s go to number one. Number one is grow with someone.
The biggest mistake I’ve seen many farmers uh make is that when they’re starting out, they
grow alone. So, the fastest way to uh for you to learn is to go with someone who uh who is already
doing the practice out there. Most especially if you are a beginner. Uh this person can be an
expert consultant uh growing the vegetable crop or a farmer that has gained experience growing a
particular vegetable crop. and most importantly has results in what they do. Don’t follow people
who don’t have results of what they really say and uh or who have not at least have an experience
of the things they say they they do. So this uh learning from someone will save you great amounts
of in of time and learning the skill faster. You don’t have to make uh most mistakes other farmers
make because someone has done those mistakes already. So things like choosing the right variety
uh having access to markets uh good planting uh practices you don’t have to really relearn those
things again uh because someone of course have really really done the experience and of course
there are mistakes that you will make because you are beginning a beginner farmer and are just
adapting to to learning this new skill but of course learning with someone helps you learn
faster. See as a cosme personal as a consultant agonomist finding people who have gone ahead of
me in the field has helped me to learn faster even work better. So I know what to expect and this
has helped me establish in the field way faster uh and of course grow and growth continues
does not really really stop. Uh so smarter farmers team up with those that are thriving in
the field. They don’t grow alone because that’s the way to learn faster the vegetable uh grow crop
that you want to grow. So you only slow yourself uh in mastering the skill when you start growing
alone. So number two, you need to experiment faster. Many uh farmers attend agriculture shows
and exhibitions. uh they do farm visits out there and are always excited about innovations and new
ideas uh they get uh out there or when they learn a lot of information from their fellow friend
farmers that are actually doing the practice. They go out there and they buy the books they pay
lots of money just to receive great great lessons from the the greats that are already practicing
out there. But uh the discouraging thing is that they waste this knowledge by not actually going
to do and practice the things out out there. So it’s a very very very few farmers by the way are
actually things that they they they learned from these shows and exhibitions. So most farmers when
they go back they pile books uh of lessons of the things that they have learned out there ideas uh
they think that will work for them and and most of the times they think they informed they have
really really the knowledge but the hurting truth I want to let you know is that you don’t know
something until you’ve practically done it. So the distance between uh you becoming successful farmer
and uh that you greatly desire is the deliberate actions you do to make sure your garden progresses
forward. So it’s a good practice for you to go out there and uh see what other farmers are doing. But
if you’re not going to experiment these things and these ideas that you learn from in your own
garden, you are only wasting your time and uh money uh which should have used to do other things
that are important. So the greatest intention of learning is for you to put into action the things
that you go and access the ideas the innovations that you access on the shows that you go to out
there. So if an idea has excited you, go and try it out in your garden. Or if you don’t have time
to really uh execute it immediately in your garden uh because of already of course you’ve already
gone ahead of a planting season, please plan for it uh in your next plan of how you’re going
to implement it to be to make your uh garden uh improve. Don’t delay to try out things. Try out
them very uh faster. Experiment. Most of the times by the way we are one idea away from becoming the
successful farmers uh we we want to really be. So act faster. Go go go out and experiment the things
that you learn from other people faster. Uh the other point is let’s let experiences teach you
what to learn. So you’ll never progress in as a vegetable garden if you cannot see your skill gaps
and work toward uh filling them. So this is what gives by the this is what gives more relevance
information because knowledge knowledge is is is is relevant if it is to be put into action.
Now uh this part uh is important if you are um also engaged in the hands-on experience of
growing vegetables. It is not uh for those fun farmers who are about activities are happening
in their vegetable garden. they we started uh so you must be participating uh uh for this to
really really make sense for you as a vegetable uh garden farmer. So there there will always
be mistakes in your gardening journey that that one you cannot skip. You always make mistakes and
usually these mistakes of course will manifest as skill gaps. So what separates smart farmers from
smart farmers is smart farmers work to improve uh their skill gaps. So if if I am good at my
skills, quality and quantity harvest are never and never a problem in my garden. If I improve
on my uh agriculture practices, labor management, fertilization, pesticide management, and all these
other skills that I’m I’m supposed to learn. I don’t have to worry about harvests. So that takes
us to another point. Uh focus on becoming good. So most beginner farmers are quitting in their
first season because they focus on the wrong things. You see, quitting is never never the
option for every beginner farmer. Let me tell you this, it’s not guaranteed that you’re going
to be successful in your first season. It’s not a guarantee. But this is what you should know. Uh
you did not start your gardening journey to only grow for the first season. you started because
you wanted to stage yourself in the market for the next 5 to 10 years. So if by the if this wasn’t
your vision in the first place, uh please right now let it be your first let it be your priority
that you’re not starting in the market for only one season. You stay yourself in the market to go
for more than just one one season. So you must be uh doing things that help you stay in the market
from time to time. You don’t have to plan for only one season. You have to plan for seasons ahead.
You must build the right uh foundation for your gardening uh journey for you to set yourself uh
in the market. So whether you make it initially or not in your first season, your head should be
raised uh up for what really really lies ahead. Uh for now, you may not know the market trends.
You may not know all the things that are involved uh because you’re starting out. Uh but in the
future uh if you’re going to go your desired vegetable cope, you’ll have to really really focus
on the right things because why? Uh people are not stopping to eat food. People will still need food.
People will still need a good diet. Uh people will still go and buy food because why? Food is a
necessity of life. Uh so you you need to stage yourself in the market to grow just not for only
one season but for more than one season. Well, see, your greatest focus for now should be
to become good at producing vegetables, the vegetable crop you desire uh to grow uh for it to
meet the market standards and uh and the amounts that are required out there. Uh you should work
uh on improving your argonomy skills. You should uh constantly be learning what other farmers are
doing. You should keep inventing new things that set you apart uh from uh others doing the same in
the market. Because you see this is the reality. For example, if you are a tomato farmer, what
separates you from uh the rest of other farmers growing in uh tomatoes in the market? Because this
is what will help you sell out in the market? Uh what unique things uh are you doing that position
you from other farmers growing tomato tomatoes in the field? Uh so let’s learn about the next point.
It help us give us uh on how direction on how to go about this. So how do you set yourself above
other farmers in the market and of course learn faster? Number five, learn a single format and
improve it over time. So the biggest mistake many beginner farmers uh make is that they think they
uh that starting and being successful uh in their vegetable garden is about overloading themselves
uh with a lot of information to start. Let me tell you the reality. The reality is that you only
need 10% of information relevant for you to start. I’m not just saying you go out in the garden and
just start. But you need only 10% of information to start. The 90% of the information will come
from your practical experience in the garden. Uh so you only need for you to start you only need by
the way a guide that has proven to yield results for you to start. And that guide will help you
uh uh know what to do from seed to harvests and how you reach out to markets. And there are quite
many guides by the way out there on the internet that you can uh start out with. So just go to the
internet and type in the word PDF guide for your desired uh vegetable crop. If you’re going to want
to grow tomatoes, just go to the internet Google, type in PDF guide for growing tomatoes and you’ll
receive the guide. So the guides are out there different there are very many guides out there but
the work is about implementation. The other place you can get a a good guide is from farmers who are
doing the same work uh or who have done the same work from start to finish. They can let you know
about the process that you need to uh go through uh to to grow your desired vegetable co from start
to finish. Uh yeah so reach out to those farmers and they’ll be able to help you. Don’t take a
lot of time to start. Do not take a lot of time to start. Uh shorten your starting time. If you
begin, if you want to start uh because it’s not about the first season, it’s about you becoming
good in growing. So because you see, let me tell you this, the truest guide uh to you, the tr uh
guide of how to grow a crop to you will come from your own on own practical experience. Uh the truth
is that uh all guides shared out there by the way are improvements of what has already existed or
what has been done before. Every everyone everyone every every farmer is sharing what has worked
for them and uh everything by the way everything starts from from the same experiences same
guides but eventually turns out to be a personal experience. Yeah. So when you go out to go and get
a guide doesn’t mean that you’ll be producing like that person in the guide. uh the experiences will
be different. Of course, it will start out as the same guide, but uh because we are different, the
experiences we have the same. We don’t have we don’t have the same resources at the same time.
We can’t access the same capital at the same time. Our environments are different. Our mindsets
are also different. We don’t have the same knowledge at the same time. Uh there will always
be something different from farmer to farmer. And uh so what is available uh to you will shape the
different farmer that you will become eventually. Uh it uh that will is that is what will set you
above other farmers in the market. Like I said the question asked there previously is what do you do
as a farmer that separates you are different from other farmers? me as an expert consultant,
what separates me from other farmers that are actually doing the consultancy there and uh
you see by the in my content I have really tried to share different things in my content that
would set me different from other farmers and um I believe uh the gap that most farmers are not
sharing uh in their experience they’re not talking about what farmers go through to get the results.
uh I believe success of your vegetable garden is uh 80% your practical experience, your resilience
and character and 20% knowledge. Yes, we need the knowledge but knowledge is only effective if you
go and do the work. So it is the character, it is the resilience that you put in the work that you
put in that makes you and sets you apart. So we all start with the same guide but with ex as time
goes on we start to be different because that’s what separates us from different tas we don’t we
don’t have the same things in at the same time we don’t have access to capital at the same time
we don’t have access to markets at the same time uh so go out there and be a different farmer
soon I’m not start sharing about how farmers tend themselves how they become educators because
the more you practice and become a separate farmer from other farmers. Uh you be start to become an
expert in so and some other farmers just going to sell out for produce. It’s more than that. You
can also earn money from being educators to other farmers who also desire to grow the same vegetable
crop that we are growing. Well, thank you for watching this video. Uh see you next video.
Please uh like uh share this video, subscribe and uh let’s keep learning from each other. Share

gardening or there questions that you need to ask me or there’s other additional information
