Raw for chili cheese you gotta cut thru the richness man

  3. sinaokai

Raw always now but I used to hate raw when I was a kid so idk what happened

  4. HorsedickGoldstein

Prefer cooked but if both are available both are going on

Raw if it’s on a dog. Minced fine white or sweet

  6. workntohard

Raw for hot dogs, cooked for brats. Raw or pickled for burgers.

  7. While we’re at it, might as well add some pickled, fried, and onion sauce.

  8. CoconutBangerzBaller

Cooked on bottom, raw on top for that extra crunch

They’d both good for different reasons, but I generally like raw on my dogs and burgers for the freshness

Spread carmelized onions on the bun, then top the hot dog with pickled onions

  11. depends on the dog! chili dogs and chicago dogs should be raw, but seattle is cooked

In the perfect world I’d have both some delicious caramelized onions and the snappy bite of fresh ones. They’re two very different flavor and texture profiles.
