Honestly for how much they charge it’s super mid. Brisket was dry with no smoke flavor and under seasoned. Sides were great but for $36/# there’s so much better bbq.

The one in Austin is better, or was the last time we were there. Not the best in Austin, certainly but it was definitely good.

Ate in Black’s in Ft Worth today at lunch. My first time in. Had brisket with burnt ends, cheddar jalapeno sausage, mac n cheese, beans, and cornbread. Haven’t eaten the pecan pie I also bought.

Overall, I thought it was really good, but way too expensive. I’m there for the brisket and it was really good, but it hasn’t knocked Franklin’s out of my top spot.

The sausage was not that good for my taste. Too much cheddar and not enough jalapeno.

Mac n cheese was very good and very rich.

The beans were fantastic. They were closer to a Tex-Mex style than a BBQ style. Very savory and full of umami. Not sweet at all. They might be better than the brisket. It is that close.

I tried two of the sauces, but ate everything without sauce.

    The cornbread was forgettable.

The pork ribs might be the best thing at TBs

Ive been there for a meal, everything was great but I enjoyed the black frozen margarita (I think that’s what it was) as much as any drink I’ve had, damn that was tasty

  7. Extremely mid place considering how many great spots are nearby

  8. Blacks, doesn’t matter which one of them it is, is overrated and mid-bbq. That’s it. It’s exactly what you’d expect for BBQ. It’s not terrible. It’s not great. It’s fine.
