Traeger 100% hickory pellets

Totally sold on this smoker. Only my 3rd time, but I am happy with the outcome. I watched a fair bit of YT and I have got much better outcomes.

Almost out of my pellets and want to move on to a new flavor. I don’t like the typical Traeger flavor but I liked hickory. I hear good things about Lumber Jack 100% oak. Also knotty wood and cookin’ pellets blends but not sure if I will like the blends. My father used to make smoked meats and I always thought the flavor was off, he has no idea what kind he used, but he is the kinda guy who would buy the closest bag that said Traeger.

Hey! It looks like you posted an image!

If this is a photo of one of your cooks, maybe share the recipe and techniques
used, as it’s almost guaranteed one of the first questions you will be asked!

    *What seasoning did you use?

*How long did you cook it, and at what temperature?

*Did you use any special tricks or techniques?

    Traeger on!

I used Traeger Anything rub and finished with sweet baby rays sweet and spicy.

    Grill at 275
Check at 1 hour 15 min spritz with water. Spritz periodically every 20-30 min.

Check at 2 hours and pull wrap in butcher with tbl spoon of tallow wrap butcher in foil.

    Back on meat side down
After 1 hour and 15 min should be temping around 204.

Make a boat out of wrap and add bbq sauce. Back on for 15-20 to get bbq tacky.
