🍰 Ingredients:

Caramel:
Sugar100g (½ cup)

Flan / Caramel pudding layer:
4 Eggs
Condensed Milk 300g (1 cup)
Milk 360ml (1 ½ cups)
Vanilla extract

Cake layer:
2 Eggs
Butter 110g (½ cup)
Plain Flour 100g (⅔ cup)
Baking powder ½ teaspoon
Sugar 100g (½ cup)
Milk 2-3 tablespoons
Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon

Measuring cup size – 240ml
Baking pan – 2 Lb Loaf tin

Method:

Make the Caramel:
Let the sugar caramelise over medium heat.
Do not stir until you see a color change.
Stir well and when you get a dark amber colour turn off the heat.
Spread in the bottom of the baking pan.

Make the Flan/ Caramel Pudding:
Whisk the Eggs, Vanilla and the Condensed milk for about 30 seconds.
Add the milk and whisk again until everything combines.

Gently strain into the cooled baking tray.
Put in a water bath.
Bake for about 15-20 minutes, in a preheated oven at 175c (350f)

While it is baking,
Make the cake:
Mix all the dry cake ingredients in a bowl.
Add all the wet cake ingredients into the same bowl.
Whisk for about 20-30 seconds.
Give it a mix.
Whisk again for about 20-30 seconds.
Give a final mix.

Now gently pour the cake batter on top of the Flan layer.

Bake again in the water bath for about 25-35 minutes, at 175c (350f)

Chill in the fridge for about 2-3 hours.
Turn upside down on to a plate.

  3. What you turn put is GREAT but not on my case. I made the date and walnut cake but the ultimate look far from yours. It was moist but your turn out was exclusive. I was really dissppointed
