1 28oz can of whole peeled tomatoes. 1 small fire roasted salsa can. One lime. 1/4 of an onion, white or yellow whatever you’ve got around. 1/4 of a bunch of cilantro. 1-3 jalapeños depending on size and spice level. Salt to taste.

I love this bc it fits to the top in my blender and always fills up a Tupperware perfectly. Easy to whip together last minute too for parties and it’s always better than store bought.

Shout out to all the great people in the community who share recipes and ideas! Salsa is life 🙂

Yep, this is my go to recipe when I’m asked to bring salsa to a big gathering and I don’t know the tolerance level the guests will have for unique flavors and heat level. It’s always a crowd pleaser. I like to use green onion and garlic in mine as well.

Looks pretty good. There’s something to be said for a quick and easy recipe that makes enough to take to a cookout and keep some at home for later.

My fast go-to is pretty similar.
2 big cans of whole tomatoes, one drained
    2 bunches of cilantro
    Whole white onion
    4-5 cloves of garlic
    2-3 habs, seeded
    Dash of cumin
    Salt
    Small can diced green chiles

Everything but the chiles goes into the food processor to a rough blend, then mix them in.

It’s enough to fill two large deli containers with a small bowl left over to ‘test’ it.

Not exactly ‘authentic’, but neither are the Tostitos scoops we use to eat a ton of it.

Hey this what most Americanized Mexican and Tex-Mex places do and can be really tasty so good on you. I’m sure I’d house the whole bowl.

Lol why does that cilantro in picture #2 look like a fish?

For quick salsas, check out El Pato. They’re pretty much the hack. Everyone was freaking out about it like I wanna say almost a year ago? Idk time flies but this sub was drowning in El Pato posts

Edit: it was about 7 months ago lmao. Search El Pato on this sub and you’ll see 🤣

  5. I make something very similar – consider adding “chipotle peppers in adobo sauce” to the mix instead of a jalapeño. It takes things to the next level.

  6. This is pretty much my favorite recipe but sometimes I boil the onion and jalapeños a little bit. And I always put chicken bullion.
