I now understand why cakes are expensive and I think people should ask more. The lustre dust did not want to stick so I gave up. Also using cream cheese + whipped cream frosting for decorating was a bad idea. BUT it was fun and I learned something so maybe this wasnt my last time making a fancy cake

100 times better than I could have done. Nice job!

    Edit: Better, not batter lol

WHOA! That looks amazing! Super fancy!

  3. Cream cheese and whipped cream frosting was a bad idea, buttercream would work a lot better but that makes the fact that it looks this good all that much more remarkable. If this truly is your first cake then you definitely have some raw talent and I bet you could do some impressive stuff if you practice a little and have the right ingredients

Sugarology has my favorite cream cheese frosting recipe that you can actually pipe. It’s all about the fats and protecting your powdered sugar from the water in the cream cheese.

Sometimes ingredients misbehave and ideas don’t translate well into reality but we make the best we can.

Great job! I want to make one of these for my MIL’s birthday so I’m just gonna steal that picture for color ideas lol
