Whilst Christmas remains more than six weeks away, it can be wise to begin your preparations now to spread expenses whilst also reducing stress in the run-up to Christmas Day.

December frequently becomes a costly month for many, as people typically indulge in special food and beverages for weeks before Christmas Day as a means of celebrating the festive season. If you celebrate Christmas, you’ll likely know how pricey the gifts and Christmas dinner can become. Due to this, some are choosing to begin purchasing these items months ahead to distribute the expenses.

Whilst planning for her own Christmas festivities, a mother called Hannah has voiced her dismay after spotting one thing whilst browsing the 2025 Marks and Spencer Christmas food range for the first time.

“Anyone look through the M&S Christmas food catalogue yet? Because, what on earth?” she said at the start of the TikTok video. “Don’t get me wrong, love, love M&S food. Love Christmas M&S food.”

“Some of the prices, guys my jaw dropped,” she added.

Hannah then acknowledged that some people won’t be troubled by the food prices, as ‘it’s Christmas’ and people usually spend more money during that period, particularly on food. However, she maintained that this wasn’t enough for her to justify the amount the supermarket chain has priced some of their Christmas food items this year.

Hannah shared that this is one of her favourite times of the year, when she gets to peruse the Christmas-themed M&S food catalogue and circle all the items that catch her eye, likening it to what many will recall doing with the Argos catalogue in their youth.

“But this is crazy,” she exclaimed before beginning to reveal some of the prices for various food items available to order from the 2025 M&S Christmas food range.

She started with the beef wellington, which according to the website serves up to six people. She admitted it looked fantastic and was sure it would taste just as good – but questioned whether it was worth the £195 price tag.

Next, she turned her attention to the turkey, commenting: “I will never ever understand why people spend the money they do on an oversized chicken.”

She proceeded to show that the British-grown, free-range turkey would serve six to 10 people, revealing the hefty £95 price tag attached to it.

“Let’s move on to the pie,” Hannah suggested, showcasing the Turkey and Stuffing pie before unveiling its price. “It’s probably beautiful. £50. £50 for a pie?”.

Following this was the Aberdeen Angus Rib of Beef, priced at £165 for eight to 10 servings, while the Sirloin and Ribeye of Beef joint for six people was listed at £105. Moving on to the sides, she pointed out that the orange and yellow British carrots for four people would cost you £8.

“Listen, each to their own, but that, to me, is obscene money,” Hannah expressed. “M&S, I love you, I really do. And it’s probably, you know, gold plated beef and turkey, and God knows what else. But f**king hell.”

Hannah wasn’t alone in her reaction, as thousands of viewers flooded the comments section with their thoughts.

“You showed the beef wellington and I confidently said ‘that’ll be about £12′” one individual penned, accompanied by a few cry laughing emojis, while another viewer remarked: “I thought Tesco beef wellington for £70 was bad.”

A third person chimed in: “Be cheaper to go out for Christmas dinner.”

Despite the shock at the prices, there was a consensus that the food looked mouth-watering, as one viewer commented: “that looks banging.”

“You can’t deny that the food looks great tho,” another person added.
