There is no way a 1970 Kabinett from the Pfalz would have lasted this long.

Ooofff. I have had lots of corks fail off dry rieslings from Germany. I am sure its a coincidence they been German rieslings . Luckily I always noticed the half dry syrup on other bottles and found the culprit before it was too late.
