Conventional “Eastern US” style with ground beef and kidney beans. Onions and garlic are typical adds but I also have one carrot and 2 banana peppers (with seeds) as well.

Brings back old memories. First thing my mom made when she got her first Crockpot was chili beans overnight. Smelled so good.when we woke up I wanted chili beans for breakfast.

Looks delicious and cozy! I have this same crock pot but in a different color pattern and mine is also from the same era! I love the size of it because it’s perfect for two or three people with a little bit of leftovers/ meal prep and it’s easy to clean and doesn’t take a lot of space. I think about getting one that is slightly larger, but I don’t use it often enough to buy another one.

I’m glad you specified that it’s not traditional so the “tHaT’s NoT rEaL cHiLi” Texans won’t cry about it.

I still have my mother’s old crockpot that is like that. Might break it out this weekend

Looks great! I cook mine in the crock too. Try 50% ground beef\50% ground pork. It was a game-changer for me.

We just replaced one of those crock pots. It was given to us as a wedding present…almost 40 years ago.
