Founded in 1914 by Felipe Ponzio, an immigrant from southern Italy, the bakery was initially a meeting place for the Italian community in São Paulo. The aim was always to create an authentic atmosphere, reminding immigrants of their distant lands.

Since then, the recipes have remained faithful to their origins, being preserved from generation to generation. Thus, trying the delights of Basilicata Pão Emporio e Restaurante means taking a trip back to its Mediterranean roots.

As well as being a bakery, Basilicata also operates as a café and restaurant, with options such as panini, pizza napoletana, gnocci and other authentic pastas. To complement this, the emporium offers wines, imported pasta and Italian products, immersing customers in the world of Mediterranean cuisine.
