I made them for some friends and I call them sausage rolls, but they’re insisting they’re called Pigs in a Blankets.

Those are pigs in a blanket. Sausage rolls are sausage meat in pastry casing.

We always said that pigs in blankets were the little ones, the cocktail sausages, but we call the big ones haute dogs lol.

Piggies in a blanket!

I have seen things as diverse as breakfast links wrapped in pancakes referred to as Pigs in a Blanket. I’m living in the Dallas area right now, and what you’re showing is sold as Pigs in a Blanket at doughnut shops around here.

In the UK pigs in blanket is a sausage wrapped In Bacon.
A sausage roll is sausage meat in puff pastry.
I have no idea what that is, if you said to someone it’s sausage inside bread they would probably picture a sausage sandwich or a hot dog 😅
That being said, I would try that. Looks like it would be good with a proper pork sausage in there.

I add cheese to mine and eat it with coney sauce 😋

Chinese hot dog buns! A classic in Chinese American bakeries.
I always associate pigs in a blanket to be hot dogs wrapped in crescent rolls, but I guess these are a home made version.

These are pigs in a blanket alrighty. I prefer to use sausages over frankfurters, personally, but to each his own. This is definitely *not* a sausage roll. A sausage roll is a pastry filled with ground pork sausage rather than a sausage link.

Worstenbrood = sausage bread. It’s Dutch. We love to eat it here in Belgium.

In Japan where I’m from, it’s called both ソーセージロール (sausage roll) and ソーセージパン (sausage pan/sausage bread) interchangeably, but it’s usually baked with a zig zag of ketchup (some places also add a zig zag of mayo) and finished with a dash of parsley. The bread part is very soft and fluffy, and hot dogs generally aren’t used (hard to come by), and arabiki sausage is used in its place. When I lived in the US (east coast tristate area) though, my ex-bf’s mom (she’s a Jersey gal) called them pigs in a blanket, but then again she also called mini hotdogs wrapped in canned crescent dough pigs in a blanket as well, which led me to believe that any hot dog wrapped in any bread/pastry dough = pigs in a blanket – not entirely sure if this interpretation is correct lol. I was however under the impression that pretzel dough somehow didn’t fall under that category though, and was “pretzel dogs” instead of “pigs in a blanket”.
Tbh don’t really care what it’s called haha, I’m sure it’s called different things in different countries. I’d love the recipe though, looks delicious 🤤

Looks like hotdogs. So pastry dogs.
If they were pretzels they’d be pretzel dogs. I make them a lot along with pretzel buns for burgers or sandwiches.
Mini sausages would be Pigs in a blanket even if it was Filo dough, puff pastry, pretzel, etc
