This September, La Camera! By TOTÓ launches TOTÓ Baby, an immersive murder mystery series that blends Italian glamour, live theatre and decadent dining into one scandalous night out. Step inside Totò Romano’s private club in Rome, 1967, where candlelight flickers, velvet drapes hide more than shadows and cocktails flow faster than secrets.
Totò Romano was no ordinary man. Italy’s most notorious director, he built legends, broke reputations and left no diva untouched. Now, Totò is dead. The cause? Unknown. The suspects? Everyone. Every Thursday, the women who defined his films return to La Camera to toast his memory, sing his praises and perhaps plot revenge. With four professional singers weaving live performances throughout the evening – part cabaret, part confession – this is a show where every note carries a secret and every song could be a clue. Theatre here doesn’t stay on stage; it spills into your glass, your table and your lap.
But the mystery isn’t for the performers alone. Guests are drawn directly into Totò’s tangled story, invited to trade whispers with the cast, gather hidden clues and interrogate suspects as they work together to unmask the killer before the final curtain falls. The drama is heightened by the setting: a transportive homage to 1960s Italy, where the glamour of La Dolce Vita meets the grit of a Hollywood backstreet. Expect soaring Italian ballads, sultry jazz and cinematic soundscapes that evoke Fellini’s world, all while dining in an atmosphere steeped in vintage decadence. This isn’t just dinner and a show – it’s a night inside the movie itself.
A luxurious three-course menu transports guests to the heart of Rome starting with creamy burrata on tomato carpaccio, golden-crusted supplì oozing with mozzarella and delicate parmigiana di zucchine. Mains are indulgent yet classic – a timeless Margherita pizza, a decadent truffle risotto and the standout filetto TOTÓ: an Australian Black Angus tenderloin finished with demi-glace and seasonal vegetables. The evening closes with the most iconic Italian finale of all: a classic tiramisù that pairs perfectly with the final act’s biggest twist.
With only a limited number of seats available each Thursday and a strictly limited run of performances, tickets will sell out fast. Two exclusive dining packages shape the evening: Sinners (Alcoholic AED 425) includes the show, dinner and 3 hours of free-flowing drinks, featuring house beverages, classic cocktails as well as signature creations inspired by Totò’s divas – from Bianca Belladonna’s smoky violet La Sirena to La Contessa’s glittering Eterna Diva. For a clear head, Saints (Non-Alcoholic AED 325) offers an experience with refined mocktails such as the Anguria Martini and Mandarini alongside premium Natureo wines.
The dress code? 1960s Funeral Chic where glamour meets scandal. Think Sophia Loren at a forbidden affair, veils and diamonds that whisper secrets and La Dolce Vita tailoring sharp enough to kill. Glamour is required, modesty optional, drama inevitable.
TOTÓ Baby is not just dinner and a show – it’s a dangerous invitation to step inside a scandal, sip with divas and uncover who dares to kill for fame. Or was it revenge? Only one way to find out: book your scene in the story now.
