Went to CTBF a couple of weeks ago and had a wonderful experience. To be honest, I don’t typically enjoy chef’s tables. I’m very much an introvert and enjoy a little table off in the corner for myself and I also don’t like servers coming up behind me. But they had good spacing at the counter so I didn’t feel like I was on top of a stranger, felt like I had my own space.

Every dish was a hit, with the standouts for me being the foie gras, the scallop, and the turbot, which wasn’t a fish I’d had before.

Also big praise to the wine pairing, every course was enhanced noticeably by the wine. Typically there will be a few dishes that i think “wow the wine really made that course even better” but here it was every course.

All in all a great experience and a strong recommend.

Is it just me or does this menu just read like a greatest hits of trendy proteins? Delicious yes but with that line up a very low degree of difficulty. Give the people what they want I guess.

I loved my meal there in May, everyone working there that night was fantastic! My only sticking point is that the bathroom situation is pretty rough for what the experience is supposed to be. If they could turn one of the corners into even a small bathroom, so that you don’t need to exit into the grocery store and awkwardly dodge those customers, then I think that would really make everything perfect. Totally agree that their wine pairings were spot on and elevated every course.

  3. Looks great! This has been on my list to go for a while. Do they require jackets or have a specific dress code?

I feel like I see constant ups and downs regarding this spot.

This meal in particular looks exceptional though.
