On Tuesday 4 November, The Evolv Collection will introduce its iconic Savile Row restaurant brand to South Kensington with the opening of Sartoria Launceston Place.
The new Sartoria outpost will offer an all-day dining experience that combines the accessible luxury of cucina elegantewith effortless Milanese style, infused with the spirit of Launceston Place, a former favourite of Princess Diana.
Originally founded by Sir Terence Conran in 1990, Sartoria was inspired by Milan – the epicentre of fashion, design, and elegant food and living. Fusing the sartorial heritage of Savile Row with authentic Italian cuisine, it quickly became one of London’s most celebrated Italian restaurants. Following a complete redesign in 2015, Sartoria has entered a new chapter under the Evolv Collection.
“Sir Terence Conran’s vision for Sartoria was to introduce guests to the elegant style of Milan, his favourite city. The opening of Sartoria Launceston Place is an important step in our strategic vision for both Sartoria and The Evolv Collection, as we continue to create iconic, recognisable brands that resonate with guests and stand the test of time,”said Martin Williams, CEO of the Evolv Collection.
The Evolv Collection has ambitious expansion plans for Sartoria over the next six months. The group will convert Fiume, Battersea into a Sartoria restaurant, and open a new Sartoria restaurant in Liverpool Street, with plans for further expansion of the Sartoria collection.
For its new Kensington location, Sartoria worked with brand historian Ron Cregan (Mulberry, The Maybourne Group) to capture the restaurant’s signature identity. The new design blends mid-century Milanese references with Conran’s original ethos: precise tailoring, rich materials, and restrained elegance, creating a neighbourhood-focused Milanese restaurant that adds a new chapter to the Sartoria brand.
