Among all the “premium” sushi delivery options in NYC—Sushi Noz, Kissaki, Nobu, Tanoshi, Sugarfish, et cetera—I more often than not find myself returning to Sushi 35 West.

It consistently delivers well, and the quality always punches above its price point.

Maybe not surprising for acolytes of NYC legend Masa Takayama, the eponymous chef and owner of the three-Michelin-starred Masa ($900 per person).

For a truly special occasion, I’d probably still pony up for Sushi Noz (the Noz Box [$315] and the Uni & Toro Don [$185] are legitimate showstoppers). But in almost every other circumstance, I can enthusiastically recommend Sushi 35 West.

I usually go for the omakase (35 pieces, $135), which I appreciate for including botan ebi, ikura, toro, and uni. The ikura, in particular, is always well-marinated and a pleasant umami bomb—most of the time, ikura is the forgotten stepchild of mid-range NYC sushi, not so here.

I’ll also vouch for the spicy scallop roll (h/t Sushi Seki).

Yes, it’s not edomae-style sushi, but this is also luxury delivery sushi.

Lighten up.

Sushi 35 West is outstanding with respect to its consistency, quality, deliverability, and QPR.

    Is this photo showing 4 orders? $135 x 4?

This place is good, but my favorite delivery has to be Sushi Hatsune.

Why the fuck would you order Noz delivery?

Thank you for spreading the word. I work close to them, and never heard of them.

I work near there and love showing new people to them. They get scared since the entrance is hella sketchy haha.

  6. Huge fan. I’ll often eat a meal on their rickety plastic tables before an Amtrak trip.

It sounds great for that area of town! I usually go east and eat in Ktown but I’ll go here the next time. I have a question – I’ve only had omakase where you’re in front of the chef and they hand you your food one at a time and each piece is different. How does delivery omakase work? Thanks!

Nice review. I hope that other sushi guy reads this and takes some lessons.

  10. For me it is either Daigo or Mikado. Don’t know why, but sushi in most of the places I ate at felt, idk, not fresh? They were fresh, but all the tastes just blended in into a monstrosity

I am not gonna lie. Once every six months I get that omakase box and relish eating it all by myself.

  12. Will definitely need to order delivery from them next time I crave sushi! Thanks for the review / recommendation

sushi by woo and tomo21 are my favs!

Sushi Hatsune is basically Sushi of Gari style but delivery (different restaurants but same quality)

On UES I find Ikyu to be very decent but not quite Hatsune level.

We have also tried all the names you mentioned, Sendo is consistently better in quality AND cheaper than all of them. Sushi 35 uses cheap Atlantic salmon, instead of premium king salmon. This box you showed also has 8 sea bass nigiri! The maki rolls are also tiny.

That…is the most sushi I have ever seen in one photograph.
