Battle of the Brands – mint chip edition

  1. I gotta say, both of these were pretty bomb (for a low calorie ice cream)

I noticed initially that Halo Top had a stronger more forward mint flavor, while Nick’s had a slightly muted creamy mint flavor.

Halo Top seemed to soften a bit quicker but once they both warmed up to a scoopable texture, Nick’s had the superior mouth feel.

I enjoyed the copious amount of mini chips in the Halo Top pint. The chunky chips in Nick’s, while tastier, were few and far between.

I also appreciate the unnecessary but nostalgic mint green color that Nick’s has, because why not, I also like to eat with my eyes.

Halo Top slightly wins in the calorie department, but overall, they’re very close in competition when you’ve got that mint chip craving.

While I could easily claim this as a tie, If I had to pick just one, I’d probably go with Nick’s. Have you tried either of these? Who do you think should be the winner?

The yasso mint bars hit the spot for 100 calls.

I only tried the strawberry version of ice cream from both brands I have to say Halo Top’s strawberry cheesecake is so much better than Nick’s. I mean, I cut calories and can’t eat any cookies, of course. The crackers in Halo Top’s strawberry cheesecake ice cream just purely makes you happy and makes you feel like you’re eating cookies.
