Since Aster’s closed, we hadn’t looked for a new Ethiopian food spot until yesterday. We landed at Habesha which had excellent food, friendly service, and clean dining area. Highly recommend. Apparently, they’ve been around since 2013!

Wow, passed by this place for years. Guess we should stop now.
Habesha is awesome! I love that place
Habesha is great. One of my favorite places in town, and too many people sleep on it.
If you aren’t central, Taste of Ethopia (both the Suburbistan location in Pflugerville and the South Congress spot) are great too.
Looks great!
One of the best spots in Austin, super delicious and affordable.
I don’t know why I thought they had closed. I REALLY need to go there again!
I’ve passed this place so many times. Thanks for sharing!
This is THE Ethiopian spot in town. Don’t trust the spots that offer you rice instead of injera or set silverware!
Yes! Ganesha is outstanding. I really enjoyed the coffee and popcorn service with the incense as well.
Went the other day because of my wife’s family and wow I was super impressed, definitely going back on my own. They are extremely nice/passionate about the food too
It’s so good!!
There are about four different Ethiopian restaurants in town, including Cedar Park, and this is the best one IMO.
Glad to see this post. I saw this place when I stopped at the Thundercloud next door and I wasn’t even sure if it was open.
Habesha is delicious. Holy moly.
Habesha is fire shoutout the hood
Aster’s closed!!?? That’s so sad.
Habesha is great, but Aster’s will always b my first love.
RIP Asters, gone but never forgotten.
I used to live down the street from taste of Ethiopia years ago. This post brings back so many great memories. I’m going to have to check Habesha out. The flavors were fantastic and the injera brings everything together. Nothing live eating with no utensils.
Habesha has been my go to for over a decade. The food is wonderful, the family that owns it and everyone they employ are so kind. Spread the word! It is The Bees Knees 💗
It’s great, don’t let the outside fool you. It’s comfortable inside and chill, food and service are great
Injera in cedar park is really good Ethiopian as well
Habesha’s Doro Key Wot (spicy stewed chicken) is one of the best chicken dishes I’ve had in a restaurant. I love that place with all my heart.
Oh yeah, it’s so freaking good
