A beloved east Louisville Italian restaurant is preparing to close its doors at the end of October.
Milano Italian Restaurant’s owners said that their Westport Road location at 11300 Westport Road will close on October 31 and serve its last meals there. On October 10, the restaurant posted the news on Facebook and thanked its loyal customers.
The post said, “It is with a heavy heart that we announce Milano’s on Westport Road will close its doors for the last time on October 31, 2025.”
“We are very thankful for the trust and loyalty you have shown our Milano family.” We hope and pray that we can come back to Louisville again soon, even though it’s hard to say goodbye.”
What Milano’s Offers
Milano’s opened in Louisville in 2021, bringing its famous calzones, pizzas, and Italian dishes to the East End of the city. Milano’s is known as the “home of the calzones.” Their menu has 13 different kinds, including Italian meatball, seafood, cheeseburger-inspired, and customizable options.
They also have “The Godfather Challenge,” which challenges diners to finish a huge calzone in less than an hour for a free meal.
The restaurant first opened in Shelbyville in 2000 at 1745 Midland Trail, and that location will stay open.
Milano said on October 3 that it would open a new restaurant at 135 East Main Street in Georgetown, Kentucky, in November.
Fans of the family-owned restaurant can still enjoy its full menu until the end of the month.
