My photo shows two standard beige grocery store shelves, starkly empty save for a random pair of crumpled black and white shorts oddly tossed onto the right side of one shelf by another irritable shopper. A yellow and reg tag on the far left declares that gallon jugs of generic Meijer-brand white distilled vinegar (normally priced at $3.99) are on sale for $3.45.

Wow that’s crazy! Hope they get it restocked soon. I just ran out of apple cider vinegar and you reminded me to add some to my cart!

What the heck? Shelves cleared for 54 cents off vinegar? I just checked the price of an equivalent up here in Canada and it’s $2.29 CDN for 4L. The pickling vinegar (7% acidity) is $4.00.
