An Italian restaurant located between Worcester and Boston known for its eclectic Italian menu has suddenly shut down.
Erica’s Ristorante in Ashland said on Facebook Wednesday that the establishment was “closing our doors today due to health and personal reasons.”
“Words cannot express our gratitude for your business and loyalty over the last 8 1/2 years,” owners Sam and Erica Cannarozzi wrote in the Facebook post. “We have met so many wonderful people and have formed so many friendships that we will cherish forever. Ashland is a wonderful community and we appreciate all that it gave to us.”
Distraught patrons expressed their sadness over Erica’s closure in the comments section of the post.
“Oh no. I’m so sorry to hear this,” one Facebook user commented. “You will be sorely missed.”
Another user wrote, “You put your hearts and soul into creating wonderful dishes and cocktails! Best of luck on your next endeavor.”
Erica’s Ristorante opened at 78 Front St. in Ashland in February of 2017, the Concord Journal reported at the time. The restaurant specialized in serving classic Italian dishes in a casual dining. Menu items ranged from pizzas and pastas to entrees such as Stacked Eggplant and Chicken Piccata. In addition, Erica’s cocktail menu featured classic spirits, beer and wine.
